Dr. Umesh Kumar Upadhyaya was born October 2, 1964 into a pious Brahmin family in Sonbarsa village in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. His father, Dr. Shiva Shankar Upadhyaya, held a professorship in Department of Sanskrit at the University of Bihar, the city of Muzaffarpur. Dr. Umesh attended Missionary Prabhat Tara School where he manifested a genuine interest in modern science. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Botany with Honours and then moved to Russia to get his post-graduate degree in Biotechnology. He is well-known as "vedic astrologer" and "tantric". Dr. Umesh Kumar devoted his young age to propagation of allopathic medicine. Having been brought up in the ancient Indian traditions and having mastered fundamentals of modern European medicine, he is disseminating knowledge about Ayurvedic medicine in his native country, Europe and Russia. So far, Dr. Umesh Kumar has founded the Ayurvedic factory in Varanasi. It is Varanasi, from where he delegates the Indian doctors of Ayurvedic medicine to Russia to deliver lectures on Ayurveda. Dr. Umesh Kumar has devoted his life to establish the Ayurvedic Indian University in Russia for the benefit of the citizens. His motto is that every human being is to lead a healthy life and be mentally and physically happy.

Dr. Umesh Kumar Upadhyaya has been working in Anjilika Aurvedic Center (the company established in 2006) for more than 10 years.
